TODAY'S CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY... KELLY PRESTON

American actress Kelly Preston was born as Kelly Kamalelehua Smith on 13th October 1962 in Honolulu, Hawaii and passed away on 12th July 2020.  She was married to actor John Travolta and had 3 children.

After attending college and graduating in 1980, Kelly went to university where she studied theatre and drama.  Her career started by acting in adverts and small roles when she was 16.  Preston’s first important movie role was when she starred in ‘Mischief’ in 1985.  By the end of the 90s, she interpreted many characters in films like ‘Secret Admirer’, ‘Twins’, ‘Jerry Maguire’, ‘For love of the Game’, ‘Holy Man’, ‘Nothing to Lose’ and ‘Jack Frost’.

In the year 2000, Kelly starred alongside her husband John Travolta in the sci-fi movie ‘Battlefield Earth’ for which she received the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress.  Until her demise in 2020, Preston continued with her career and acted in numerous movies of different genres as well as TV series, short films and documentaries.  In 2004, she also appeared in the music video ‘She will be Loved’ of the group ‘Maroon 5’.

Kelly died of breast cancer on 12th July 2020 at the age of 57.
