American actress Halle Maria Berry was born 57 years ago as Maria Halle Berry in Cleveland, Ohio, is in a relationship and has 2 children.
After graduating from high school, Halle worked in a department store and then proceeded with her studies at college. She participated in various beauty contests during the 80s and managed to win twice, in 1985 and 1986.
Since her main aim was to become an actress, Berry went to New York to try her luck in the film industry. She succeeded in getting a part in a TV series called ‘Living Dolls’. In 1991, she made her big screen debut with a minor role in the movie ‘Jungle Fever’ and for the rest of that decade was cast in numerous other films as well as TV movies such as ‘Strictly Business’, ‘Boomerang’, ‘Queen: The story of an American family’, ‘Race the Sun’, ‘Why do fools fall in Love’ and ‘Introducing Dorothy Dandridge’, amongst others. Apart from being an actress, she was also a spokeswoman for a multinational cosmetic company.
By the beginning of the millennium, Halle had become an established actress as well as gained worldwide recognition for her works. She continued with her career and in the last 20 years starred in various productions of different genres, both on the big and the small screen. In addition, she also acted as producer/executive producer/director of some of them and is currently filming a movie called ‘Our Man from Jersey’.
During her +30-year career, Halle received a total of 26 awards, including an Academy, a Primetime Emmy, a Golden Globe Award and 2 Screen Actors’ Guild.
