TODAY'S CELEBRITY BIRTHDAY... ANNE ARCHER

American actress Anne Archer was born 76 years ago in Los Angeles, California, is married and has 2 children.

Immediately after graduating from college, Anne embarked on an acting career.  Her first acting performance was in a local yearly organised outdoor play and then she moved to New York. 

During the 70s, Anne starred in several TV series such as ‘Little House on the Prairie’, ‘Hawaii Five-O’ and ‘Ironside’.  Her big screen debut was in the comedy movie ‘The Honkers’ and later proceeded with interpreting supporting as well as leading roles in various films alongside famous actors like Chuck Norris, Sylvester Stallone and Jon Voight, amongst others.

In the next decade, Archer acted in less significant films and TV movies, series and soap operas.  In 1987, she had an important supporting role in ‘Fatal Attraction’, starring also Glenn Close and Michael Douglas.  The film was a big success, so much so that Anne was nominated for some awards.

In 1990 alone, she had prominent roles in 3 films and in later years starred in two famous movies ‘Patriot Games’ and its sequel ‘Clear and Present Danger’, both starring also Harrison Ford.

In the last 20 years, Anne proceeded with her acting and appeared in around 20 movies, both on the big and the small screen, as well as starred in various TV shows.

To date, Archer received a Golden Globe Award and a Venice Film Festival Award.
